SKA’s Nisei Week Exhibition and Tournament started in 1957 when Mr. Tsutomu Ohshima gave the first official demonstration of karate to the American public.

The tradition continues yearly as part of the Nisei Week Japanese Festival, a seventy year old celebration of Japanese arts, traditions, games and foods.

The 67th Annual Nisei Week Karate Exhibition and Tournament will be held on Saturday August 22, 2026.

We invite everyone to attend. Admission is free. The event is from 1:00pm – 4:00pm.

Please join us at the Terasaki Budokan
249 S Los Angeles St
Los Angeles, CA 90012
